Savana & Logan
 May 20, 2020
Logan and I met during high school in Dallas, Texas. We reconnected during our freshman year of college and began dating after we were reminded of how natural it felt to be together. On vacation three years later, he proposed to me at a botanical garden in Akureyri, Iceland. His proposal came as a complete surprise and sharing that moment alone in nature was very fitting for us.
We’ve since moved to South Carolina, but agreed that Northwest Arkansas was the perfect place to hold a wedding since our family was spread out across the south. Our original wedding plans involved 50 of our closest family members all traveling from out of town to join us on April 25th. This plan was scrapped a few short weeks before the wedding, leaving us scrambling to either elope or postpone our wedding until 2021. After dating for five years and being engaged for two of them, we were just ready to be married!
We eloped on a Wednesday in May and the result was everything we could have dreamed of: an intimate and tearful ceremony, followed by a romantic evening filled with candlelight and laughter. We did a virtual champagne toast over Zoom right before dinner, so that our loved ones could be a special part of the day in some capacity. We were able to truly relax and enjoy ourselves while our photographer, Shelby Simpson, documented all of the special moments our families couldn’t be there for. One of those moments at our reception was Logan catching a trapped bird with his bare hands!
Now that we’ve shared our wedding album, we have had multiple people say that they felt like they were there just from viewing the photos. This couldn’t replace the presence of our loved ones, but there definitely was something special about being able to spend our entire wedding day focused on each other.
